Not quite pubs this time, but from The Times supposedly six of the best bottled real ales (4/6 for me):

You've hit the nail right on the head! Poorly researched and poorly written, with some very average pubs included.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

I've been to 18, but would struggle to recommend going back to more than half a dozen of those. Maybe I'll try getting to some of the others over the course of the summer.
Total crap, I doubt she's ever been in any of them.

She certainly hasn't been in Mist anytime recently as it's now an Irish bar called McGintys. It was going very crap before then as well.

I doubt she even wrote a word in that article. Descriptions seem to be copy & pasted from various puff pieces and news articles.

'...the Poste House should be right up your Danny La Rue' - I don't know what this means, but is it Liverpudlian slang for a gay pub?

Grade 'C' French O'level nearly 40 years ago, rusty but not forgotten. It seems Danny La Rue is slang analogous to Scooby Doo - 'clue', as in 'Haven't a Scooby/Danny'; perhaps Time Out is trying to get down wid da kidz and getting it wrong.
