The Victoria - photographed it, made a mental note to visit a couple of years later only to find it rammed (which unknown to me was the closing party), returned a week later to find it closed with the furniture dumped on the pavement.

Yes, I spotted the Victoria too, which I seem to remember was a Whitbread pub originally. I had also done the 3 Pigeons in Richmond, which I think closed after a fire.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement
It was a Whitbread pub.
I also spotted a packed out crowd when I visited The Murray Arms, only to return a few days later to find that I'd missed the closing party; I could go on...
An odd mix of pubs with their Nos1 not rating particularly highly on PuG. 31/50
