And their final list of the oldest 10:

The Seven Stars Carey Street, WC2
The Olde Wine Shades Martin Lane, EC4
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Fleet Street, EC4
The Old Bell Tavern Fleet Street, EC4
The George Inn Borough High Street, SE1
The Hoop and Grapes Aldgate High Street, EC3
The Spaniards Inn Spaniards Road, NW3
The Lamb and Flag Rose Street, WC2
    The Grapes Narrow Street, E14
    The Guinea Bruton Place,

I don't think I have visited the Wine Shades, which is part of El Vinos nowadays and may not even sell beer, but glad to say that I have been to all the rest.

I've been to all but the Wine Shades and the E14 Grapes all years ago. I don't envisage a future visit to any of them.

Just the Olde Cheshire Cheese, The George and Spaniards Inn for me although probably a few to add to the "to do" list.

Martyn Cornell did a hatchet job in his blog on an London Irish pub making similar daft claims, all part of the fun of being an historian.

That's a good list and an interesting article which debunks a few false claims.Never been to the Spaniards and Olde Wine Shades but been to the rest ,some before I started reviewing and those maybe worth a revisit.

Not quite - you seem to have omitted The Tipperary Fleet Street, EC4 (which should have been listed in 4th place, with The Grapes and The Guinea being tied in 10th place)!

The Grapes is a decent pub but pedestrian beer range.
