Thanks, another thing was that I'm sure there was a Higson's pub in Lime Street, no doubt frequented by the Merseyside Maggie Mae as popularised by a famous group on their Let It Be album.

I've looked this up and think it must have been the Court House which doesn't appear here nor on the Lost Pubs site. I think it may have been demolished as early as 1980. All I remember of it was that it sold Higsons and was dark and basic,
