My definite 9 are these :-

1. The Spaniards, London
4. The Nutshell, Bury St Edmunds Suffolk
8. The Jerusalem Tavern, London
12. Bridge Inn, Topsham, Devon
14. Haunch of Venison, Wilts
16. Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Nottingham
20. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, London
21. Crown Posada, Newcastle
24. The Dove, London

I still can't believe there is nothing else of merit in Scotland. The Clachaig Inn is a climbers/walkers pub and was all keg when I was there but they did have some great Scotch and bottles of Fowler's Wee Heavy.

Why don't we produce our own lists?
I don't think any of those would make it onto mine.
Just the four London pubs for me as apparently there are no noteworthy pubs in Sussex, Hampshire or Surrey. Seems like the author likes pubs along the M5/M6 and in Norfolk. The two in Kent are as North as you can get and a stone’s throw from each other.

These pub lists seem quite popular; my missus got sent this list via facebook!

We should compile a PuG list which some of our wordsmiths can write up properly and send out. Might raise the profile of the site a bit and cause some lively debate . (I think this idea may have been mooted some time ago).
