I fear it was the grotty one (Ferrands) that I went in and got to the Brown Cow to find it shut. It was actually post 1988 but it took years before the majority of places decided it wasn't worth closing for the afternoon. None for me,though the northwest is pretty well a closed book. I did enjoy Holts in Manchester about 43 years back, though that is another country.

I've a mate from Neston and at least forty years ago he dragged me around just about every single pub in the area so I'm sure I've been to the Harp but I have no recollection of it whatsoever!
The only one I remember at all is one at Parkgate overlooking the estuary towards the NE Wales hills.
So it's a conglomerate of local pubs trying to tempt the residents of Liverpool outside of their local. Great penmanship but realistically a waste of petrol.
I used sometimes to work at Neston during my Marconi spell, traveling far beyond the southerners safe zone of the M25 & A4. I used to stay in the Parkgate so def had a few in there. I can't place the Harp either, we mainly just stuck to the crawl along the the sea / marsh front, if there was any sea of course

A good list for the Londoners, I have managed 25 of them, I'm sure those more local (and even not) will have done a lot more.
