I am a salmon !!
Only the Falkland Arms in Great Tew; when you see a pub like that, you just have to call in (whether originally after a pint or not).
It looked fabulous, both inside and out, and didn't disappoint - I've only given a score of 10 to a handful of pubs, and this is one of them
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
None for me either - the Falkland has been on my 'to do' list for years.
All lovely and very tickety-boo and none visited (outside Burford and Chipping Campden) as I bomb through from Oxford via Cheltenham. Is The Seven Tuns Inn actually open?
3/10 for me:
Falkland Arms
The George Inn
The Woolpack
I see they've corrected the typo that originally had the Falkland Arms referred to as the 'Falcon Arms'.
"Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter"
The Howard Arms and The Ebrington Arms both within the last 6 weeks.
Falkland Arms many years ago pre-reviewing days.
"Beer is food." Morse, Colin Dexter
