Just Oakham Bishops Farewell and Growler Augustinian tried on cask this week, both of which were very good.

A number of quality bottle conditioned ales sampled though which included BOTW Marble Earl Grey IPA. Exquisite but not really a glugging ale at 6.8% even though it doesn't really allow an alternative.

A more sensible list this week!

Brodie's Baby Mild Coffee and Cinnamon 2.7%
    Orkney Atlas Meridian 3.9%
    Hogs Back Tea 4.2%
    Lees Game On 4.2%
    Banks's Czech Mate 4.4%
Greene King George and Flagon 4.5%
    Everards Regimental IPA 5.0%
    Brentwood Jolly Decent Wallop 5.2%
    Brodie's Jamaican Stout Sarsapirilla 5.4%
Banks's Saint Archer Pale Ale 5.5%
Brodie's Dry Hoppin' Mad Williamette 5.5%
    Titanic Iron Curtain 6.0%
Brodie's Hackney Red Seville Orange IPA 6.1%
Brodie's Kentish Town Brown IPA 6.2%

The winner is the latest American Spoons beer brewed by Banks's proving that they can also do the business with these beers where others, notably Marstons fail. It's strange as they are technically the same company! It was in great form on two occasions at the King's Ford in E4 (£2.35).

BOTW Banks's Saint Archer Pale Ale

    A large week for me.

    Titanic -- White Star
    Brooklyn -- Lager
    Fullers -- Brit Hop
    Butcombe -- Rare Breed
    Fullers -- ESB
    Marble -- Dobber
    Burning Sky -- Devil's Rest
    Kent Brewery -- Altered States
    Marble -- Lagonda IPA
    Allendale -- Rye Pilsner
    Oakham -- Citra (3PT)
    Dark Star -- Hop Head

BOTW goes to an outstanding Marble Lagonda IPA in The Southampton Arms, delicate and floral yet complex and full of flavour.A great way to sign off for the evening.

Hopefully a visit to Stafford and Stone during the week, and a chance to sink a few Titanics.
