    Default Brentford pubs

Going to Brentford Saturday 8th March, primarily for the football Brentford V Bradford City & will definitely be doing the 4 pubs on each corner of Griffin park. Can anyone reccomend any other good pubs in or nearby as this is likely to be a one off visit?

Looking for a few pubs to numb the pain of inevitability eh!

I recommend the Globe and Lord Nelson, especially if you are getting the train. But they are the opposite direction to the high street where the pubs below can be found.

I've not been in the Magpie and Crown for a few years, but unless there has been a major downturn it is worth a visit. The Brewery Tap is also worth a visit and is around the corner from the Magpie. Walking up to GP from the Brewery Tap is the Waterman’s Arms for a lucky dip.

Royal Horse Guardsman is the smallest pub in the area.

    Beehive is shyte
    Six Bells is Shyte
Time is a nice café that is a good option if you are after some early scran.
    Weir is Shyte

The Magpie has been smartened up and has a great beer selection.
The Watermans is not bad but only Greene King beers.
The Brewery Tap is a lovely old pub.Fullers but usually an interesting guest.
Six Bells is a modern smart Fullers pub now.
Globe is a Fullers pub but they usually have ESB quite rare round these parts.
    cheers john

Thanks Strongers & London calling. Appreciated. Will only be in Brentford for about 3 hours before the game & a couple after. A part of the world I havent been to for nigh on 30 years & would'nt want to waste limited time in anywhere undesirable. Cheers.

In addition to the other good suggestions I also quite like O'Briens a basic down to earth but decent spot with in my experience well kept beer.
