A decent week but with a couple of howlers:

    Courage Directors
    London Pride
    Keltek Lance
    Youngs Special
    Vale Red Kite
    Exmoor Dark
    Saltaire Winters Ale
    Oakham Bishops Farewell

Surprisingly the Directors passed the 3 pint test with relative ease and the Red Kite, Dark and Bishops were all very good. The Lance qualifies as BABOTW and BOTW was Saltaire Winters Ale. A traditional best bitter colour but with some poke at 4.9% and very drinkable.

    Another sparse week
    Darkstar Hophead
    Darkstar American Pale Ale
    Courage Best
    Hook Norton Lion

The two Darkstars were Heads and shoulders above the others , I'm going with the American Pale Aleas BOTW.

Boating around MK so my expectations were low.

Charles Wells -- Courage Directors (half a gallon went down with no problem)
    Fullers -- London Pride (3PT)
Keltek -- Lance (see BABOTW )
    Charles Wells -- Youngs Special
    Vale -- Red Kite
    Exmoor -- Dark
    Adnams -- Southwold Bitter

BOTW goes to Exmoor Dark in good nick in The White Horse,Linslade.

Hoping to catch the tail end of the Wetherspoons mini London Breweries festival in the George next Saturday ,likely BOTW there in what is billed as "Battle of the Brewers"

Not that many this week :-

    Hopcraft Prospector 4.1%
    Oakham Citra 4.2%
    Cairngorm Black Gold 4.4%
    Twickenham Naked Ladies 4.4%
    Acorn Winter Pale Ale 4.5%
Windsor & Eton Windsor Knot 4.5%
    Arkell's Kingsdown 5.0%
Blue Monkey Bonobo Black IPA 5.3%
    ELB East India Spice 5.5%
    Oakham Black Hole Porter 5.5%
    Brodie's Kentish Town Brown 6.2%
    Adnam's / Sixpoint Righteous Ale 6.3%

There are a few contenders, including the Sixpoint, W&E Windsor Knot and Black Gold but the winner has to be the Kentish Town Brown, an American Brown Ale for £2.50 in the William IV..
The Blue Monley Black IPA was a major disappointment as it lacked the hop flavour and aroma that are a trademark of this style of beer.

    BOTW Brodie's Kentish Town Brown

No pub again this week:best of the bottles Ilkley Mary Jane, a worthy 5star when tried on draught at the Cover Bridge last year, but alas not naturally conditioned in bottle.

Fairly quiet week for me, but several beers on top form.

    Mallinsons - Well Hopped Women.
    Rat - White Rat.
    Fernandes - Black Voodoo.
    XT - 4.
    Adnams - Ghost Ship.
    RCH - PG Steam.
    Roosters - High Tea.
    Hanlons - Port Stout.
    Otley - O2 Croeso.
    Yorkshire Dales - Boro.

With honorable mentions for the High Tea and White Rat, the Well Hopped Women was just what we've come to expect from Mallinsons - pale, hoppy and delicious.
