Managed to visit a few new pubs around London over the Bank Holiday weekend, which has taken me over the 100 mark. I'm now up to 103 first time visits, 52 of which took place during a very busy March.

A sign of the times in Oldham.
I set off with a plan to visit 9 pubs, a couple in town and the rest around the outskirts that I hadn't visited before.
The first 3 were all within a few minutes walk of each other, all 3 were closed, two being tinned up, the other with broken windows and a trashed inside.
Of the town pubs one was closed and partially boarded and the other was now a piri piri restauant.
So 5 closed out of 9.
4 new pubs collected though, so now on 70.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Planned to visit 2 new bars in Todmorden yesterday. One had already failed and was shuttered.
So just the one pub added, now on 71.

Heading towards last years total of 40 at breakneck speed, now on 32.

A tour of the Outer Hebrides included visits to nine new pubs, plus another 11 visited on Skye, and in Inverness, Edinburgh and Berwick on the way there/back. Total for the year now 107. (BTW, all Western Isles pubs now have photos, apart from one which I have asked Dave to delete, as it turned out not to be a bar after all - in compensation, I have added two more pubs that I discovered on my travels.)
Come On You Hatters!
A small handful on holiday plus a whizz round OX1 (again) yesterday brings me up to 234/365 (or August 22nd on the calendar...). Reckon there's another 25 or so left to do in Oxford that are walkable but then I start running a bit short of cheap after-work low-hanging fruit. The law of diminishing returns....
177 new at present now, revisit fruit at 117 due to distance needed to be traveled after work to do some new ones in a swiftly manner rather than sit in a traffic jam for best part of an hour. New employer and more flexible hours may see escape from office earlier to avoid traffic and bag the further away ones during the week. If I clear the countryside ones in new boundary extension and hit central Bath and Weston without transport then the numbers could increase dramatically. Sad thing is through photo recces without mate I'll be doing revisits on a few pubs.

I have been doing my reviews for the pubs we go to while in Cornwall, and it seems I am the only one visiting a lot of them year after year, so I will just review those that are new to us now. We have been to 3 new ones for us in the last week, so my total for 2014 is now 14.
