A good week, ones marked "*" were excellent.

    Hopcraft Permanent Revolution 3.7%*
    Adnam's Gunhill 4.0%
    Brodie's London Fields Pale 4.0%
    O'Hanlon's Dry Stout 4.2%
    Bradfield Farmers Belgian Blue 4.9%*
    Brodie's Old Street Pale 5.0%*
    Brentwood Five Gold Rings 5.0%
    ELB East India Spice 5.3%
    Adnams / Pretty Things Jack D'Or 6.0%
London Fields Black Frost Stout 6.0%*
    Brodie's Kentish Town Brown 6.3%*
    Adnam's / Sixpoint Righteous Ale 6.3%
    Kernel LBA Stout 7.0%*
London Fields American Black Ale 7.0%*
London Fields Weizen Dopple Bock (Keykeg) 7.5%
London Fields First Born Barley Wine (Keykeg) 9.0%*

The winner is the Kernel LBA Stout as tried in the Cock Tavern Hackney at £4.80 (I think!). This is a new brewery for me as apparently they don't do much cask. For a 7% stout it was amazingly drinkable. The Bradfield Belgian Blue is worth a mention as it appeared to be a Bilberry flavoured beer with a head that was a pale mauve in colour. It sounds hideous but was superb!

    BOTW Kernel LBA Stout

Needed a rest after the excesses.

    Elland -- Celebration Porter
    Tillingbourne -- Hop Troll

BOTW goes to Elland Celebration Porter brewed by the folk from Elland at Thwaites in a collaberation, probably for 'spoons given it was taken in The George,Croydon.Same recipe as the 1872 Porter, using excess brewing capacity at Thwaites. Best beer out of Blackburn for a long time, very drinkable at 6.5%.

Next week drifting through MK,decent ale often a challenge there.

    A couple of highlights:
    Daleside Blonde
Blue Monkey King Kong Merrily on High
    Oakham Bishops Farewell
    TT Landlord

The King Kong was very good but BOTW was Timothy Taylor Landlord drunk in The Boltmakers at Keighly.
