Having lost my trusty notebook somewhere on a dark and muddy towpath, this is a close approximation to what I had during the week.

    Jennings -- Cocker Hoop
    Marstons -- Pedigree
    Church End -- Stout Coffin
Church End -- What the Fox's Hat
    Church End -- Fallen Angel
    Salopian -- Oracle
    Timothy Taylor -- Landlord
    Jennings -- Knight Porter
    XT -- 5

The Fallen Angel was spot on but BOTW goes to Jennings Knight Porter,4.2% and with a very distinctive dry ,bitter finish easily through the three pint test with the best pint in The Dixie Arms,Market Bosworth.

No surprises if next week BOTW will be sourced in Leeds on the PuG crawl, should be a big haul.

    Darkstar - Hophead
    Milestone - Crusader
    Three Tuns - Clerics Cure
    Castle Rock - Harvest Pale
    Adnams - Southwold Bitter
    Loddon - Hoppit
    Woodfordes - Wherry

Only two in the running this week,
Darkstar Hophead just pips the Harvest Pale as BOTW, both previous winners but both streets ahead of the rest.

I'm still finding Spoons Festival beers, most notably the Hazelnut Brownie for only £1.49 :-

    HardKnott Lux Borealis 3.8%
    Adnam's Old 4.0%
    St Peter's Extra 4.4%
    Thwaites Lancaster Bomber 4.4%
    Mordue Oatmeal Stout 4.5%
    O'Hanlon's Dragons' Bitter 4.5%
    White Horse Cheval Blanc 4.7%
Long Man American Pale Ale 4.8%
    Shefford 37 South 4.8%
    Howling Hops Bramble Porter 4.8%
    Portobello American Pale Ale 5.0%
    Sunny Republic Dorset Cross 5.0%
    Brodie's Pumpkin Porter 5.5%
    Downton Chocolate Orange Delight 5.8%
Five Points Hook Island Red 6.0%
Adnams / Pretty Things Jack D'Or IPA 6.0%
    Batemans Hazelnut Brownie 6.3%
    Brodie's Dalston Black IPA 7.0%

The three contenders are the Portobello APA, the Hook Island Red and Dalston Black IPA making a rare appearance on cask.

The award has to go to the Brodie's Dalston Black IPA for £2.50 in the Leyton King William IV. To produce a beer of this strength devoid of any sweetness and that is best described as Hop Soup must require an enormous quantity of hops.

A quiet and fairly average week

    Ilkley Black
    Marstons Pedigree
    York Guzzler
    Gt Heck Treason Stout
    Magic Rock Circus of Sour
    Magic Rock Dark Arts
    Red Squirrel London Porter
    Roosters All Star
    Hambleton Darkoss
    Fernandes Folklore
    Adnams Ghost Ship
    Ridgeside Jailbreak
    Leeds Midnight Bell

I'm tempted to say Circus of Sour because it is just so different but the other Magic Rock beer was far better - Magic Rock Dark Arts

    A very decent week:

    Pedigree
    TT - Landlord
Church End - Fallen Angel, Coffin Stout, What The Fox's Hat
    Jennings - Knight Porter
    Irving - Invincible
    XT - XPA
    Oakham - Citra
    Titanic - White Star
    Marble - Manchester Bitter
    Blue Monkey - Monkey

Some very good beers there. The XPA may well have made BOTW had there been time for more than a swift half and the Knight Porter, as Mr Fastard notes, slid down well.
BOTW was Blue Monkey - Monkey, a seasonal special described as an IPA on their website. Zipped through the 3 pint test and is an especially dangerous 5% since, as with many Blue Monkey beers, it simply gets better the more you have.

Sadly no beer this week, or last week. Not the best preparation for Friday's bash.
