Default The Crosby, Thornton le Beans

This is weird, if you go to the North Yorkshire page and choose Northallerton, under the villages Thornton le Beans is shown as only closed pubs/no pubs.

If you go to the map for the area http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubmap/68291/ the pub shows up and you can link back to its page http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/68291/

    Hi ob,

Not that weird, although I may earn a fail in trying to explain this. The pubs are put into a town, so The Crosby was allocated to Northallerton. When you search for Thornton le Beans we ask Google to tell us where it is and then you can go and look at that point on a map and we will chuck in all the pubs that fit at that point. So whilst we had the Crosby correctly located by its Longitude and Latitude we had it incorrectly placed in Northallerton. I have now moved it correctly (at least I think that is what was happening).

If we had an outline co-ordinate for every town (we do for all our counties), we could correctly allocate each pub to it's town. Sadly as far as I can tell this information doesn't exist, and if it does it is owned by Ordinance Survey who despite being funded by taxes charge us to get any information off them .

Anyway, my little rant for the day, thanks for letting us know about that.
