I, too, must congratulate Quinno on directing the unruly mob [1] around town with great forbearance. You've got some good pubs there, in particular Fox and Hounds & Hopleaf. A very enjoyable day out, with added fly-past. I didn't fall asleep on the train home, but it was a sweltering ride (on the first train, anyway).
[1] may just have been me, on reflection.
Keeping breweries in business for more than 40() years
Cheers all, pleased it went well and we managed to pretty much keep to timetable which was a minor miracle in itself. After seeing off Moby and Mr Fastard, OB and I managed to stagger off to the Nags for a quick nightcap...
A special mention to Soup, who showed a touching concern about my perceived lack of beer consumption
The double flypast really was something.
Cheers Quinno, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day. My memory of events after Zerodegrees is a little hazy, but I managed to find my way home OK.
WE ARE THE BREADMEN - UP THE BEES
No did`nt need to sleep under a hedge , just an hour walk home !!
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight when 3 aircraft is always the Lancaster flanked by a Hurricane and Spitfire , not sure which Spitfire it was yesterday (BBMF have 5/6 still flying ) but i think it was the Mk X1X the Last , it was not the TES as that has clipped wings and it looked painted in green so not the Recon Spit which is all silver .
For those that do not know the Spitfire has the narrower body and larger more pointed wings ...................... i have a collection of anoraks !!!!!
Theres a Man with a Mullet going Mad with a Mallet in Millets !
Have to say Mrs A and I enjoyed Reading very much - a big thanks goes to Quinno for his organisation of the day, plus the 5 minute warnings to get us out and onto the next pub (and getting everyone on and off the buses!!). The pubs were all excellent with the Nag's Head being a particular favourite. The beer in Zerodegrees had loads of flavour and was refreshing on a hot day.
