    Default The 2013 Mobys

My awards for the past year.

    BEER OF THE YEAR
1- East London Brewing - Quadrant Oatmeal Stout ,one of the most perfect beers I've ever had the pleasure to drink.
2- Darkstar- Greenhopped IPA , a legend in my lifetime.(And Physically damaging).
3-Siren Craft - Ryezing Tide , Awsome beer.
4-Titanic chocolate and Vanilla Stout, Fantastic.
5 -Oakham Citra - Right up my street, so to speak.

    BREWERY OF THE YEAR
1- Siren Craft Brew , Just blown me away this year excellent.
2- East London Brewing , so good.
3- Darkstar- The masters of good.
    4- Hopcraft - Very interesting.
    5- Oakham - They're just good.

    PUB OF THE YEAR
1-The Gunmakers Arms . Its everything I want in a pub.
    2-The Cock Tavern
3-The Harp Surprised by Johns latest summary of the pub ,but horses for courses and all that.
    4-The Nags Head
    5-The Charles LambWonderful.
Pretty London centric but thats what I like.
p.s The Southampton Arms has to be thereabouts as well.

    Well that's what I think, what's yours?

Some very good pubs, breweries and beers in those lists Moby, once I have sobered up from all this festive boozing ,I will give some thought to my favourites for the year.Still got to battle through nine more days of the year before any chance of sensible recollection.

I'll go along with this as I don't really do anything of the year so this is just stuff that has impressed me over the last year.
They are not in any order of preference.

    Beer

    Unsurprisingly lots of Brodie's beers.
Dark Star Green Hopped AND Red Shift.
Windsor & Eton Conqueror and Irish Conqueror Black IPA
    Triple fff Jabberwocky Black IPA

There's probably lots more but I find it easier to remember breweries that have impressed so here goes:-

    Breweries

    Brodie's (Obviously)
    Dark Star
    East London Brewery
    Redemption
    London Fields
    Portobello
Clarence & Fredericks (later in the year)
    Triple fff
    Long Man
    Tap East
    Five Points
    Siren
    Hopcraft
    Adnam's
    Howling Hops

    Pubs

    The Cock Tavern Hackney
    The Harp WC2 (Early Morning)
    The Lord Nelson Brighton
The Bell E17 (When there's a good selection on)
    The Door Hinge Welling

    Now to annoy people :-

    Spoons of the year :-

    The George in Wanstead E11
The Cap in Hand at Hook / Surbiton
    The Crown and Sceptre SW2
The King's Ford E4 (cheap and reliable, some beers are still £1.99)

The first three are original pubs rather than shop conversions. only the last two are GBG listed.

Seriously , some interesting lists, I must try some Weird Beard soon and the Crown and Anchor looks interesting, Will possibly be around Borough Market this Monday so might take a tube down to Stockwell as well.
