Default Cheltenham - Any recommendations ?

Off to Cheltenham for the Jazz Festival this weekend..
PuG activity for Cheltenham seems a bit thin and nothing seems to be leaping out as must do's.
Identified The Jolly Brewmaster and Kemble Brewery Inn as worth a look, but if anyone has any other recommendations more than happy to receive them.

If travelling to Cheltenham on train it is a good walk to the town centre and the Midland which is opposite the station is a pretty dire pub.

When i did my crawl there i went for Arkells and Wadworths tied houses.

Adam and Eve,St James Hotel and Exmouth Arms were all Arkells houses, the pick of these was the Exmouth Arms.

The Bayshill,Brown Jug,Cotswold and Tailors were all Wadworth tied houses,i qiute liked the Bayshill and Brown Jug

If you want a proper irish pub then the Irish Oak is worth a go,no real ales and a proper down to earth feel nothing like a false O'Neils.

These are probably not the type of pubs you are looking for but i enjoyed my visits to all of these pubs except the Midland.

    Many thanks Alan...

I've managed to find the local CAMRA branches web pages and their pub listings and the Adam & Eve and Exmouth Arms look worth a visit, especially as Arkells is a rarity on my normal travels..

But I'm sure you'll understand if I say I won't be bothering with the Wadsworth houses. I think I've had enough 6X for one lifetime.

From a previous visit to Cheltenham The Beehive was a good pub. Did venture into the Midland as we arrived by train. Think this was OK too The Kings Arms

I just want to say thanks to Gann, for posting his photos of The Sandford Park Alehouse et al, after his visit to Cheltenham. Your reviews were spot on. Thanks also, for adding The Cheltenham Motor Club, it needed someone with more expertise than myself, to describe the attributes of that much admired venue.
