    Post The Station Inn, Whitby

    Hi Conrad,

The Tap and Spile in Whitby has been sold and has now adopted its much earlier name of "The Station Inn". This may have something to do with the fact that it is directly opposite Whitby Town railway station, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway have extended their operations, and now provide direct steam trains between Whitby and Pickering, between Easter and the end of October. This means of course that I will now have the opportunity to have lunch in any of the many excellent pubs in Pickering, without the need to drive!

I've got a new picture to submit, but I'll wait until you change the name.

    Regards,

    Filo

    Hi Filo,

I have corrected that name now.

Steam train, sun and nice beer. Sounds like a formula for good summer days, heres hoping the pubs benefit from it.

    Thanks

    Conrad

    Default Ancient Whitby

    Hi Conrad,

There can't be many places where there is a three masted 22 Gun Frigate, a full size replica of HMS Blandford in the harbour, steam trains in and out of the railway station, and a steam tour bus as well as some of the finest traditional pubs. Whitby is certainley a special little town.

    Filo.
