It's a few years since I've been in Stoke (as a Luton Town fan I've less reason to go there than previously), but you should definitely go to The Coachmakers Arms, if it's not been demolished yet.

    Hi Delboy,

I have been in 63 pubs in Stoke on Trent since mid November 2012 so all of my reviews are pretty upto date.

If you want to do a pub crawl Hanley is on the wrong side of town for the ground,i would advise Fenton or Stoke Town,if doing the Stoke town crawl it is under the railway lines, the first pub you should see is the Glebe, there are many other pubs near this area with the White Star being a Titanic tied house.

If you then walk down london road there are quite a few pubs on this road and just off it,all had real ales on on my visit.

Be warned all pubs in this area are Stoke only pubs, when i was in town Stoke were playing Chelsea and i did'nt see one Chelsea fan in any pubs on london road,so keep your colours well hidden, just follow the crowds to get to the ground.

If you need any more advise just ask.

    Cheers Alan

    Delboy,

Al10000 has listed all the good pubs not far from SoT station, hope you enjoy them. There is a football special bus service from The White Star to The Brittania but I dont know if this is for Potters fans only. However you could always walk along the canal towpath if you wanted a more scenic route to the stadium. It's about a mile and a half from Glebe Bridge.
