Handy for visiting her mum in Acton although this was a few years ago.

Not today, but between Xmas and New Year in Hull.

Dave Rotheray from the Beautiful South serving me beer and having a friendly chat behind his bar on Newland Avenue.

Did you need a little time to think it over?

How would you rate the encounter? A Perfect 10? I always thought that Beautiful South were just that geezer from the Housemartins and the Scouse bird. They're from Oop North so how would I know any better?

I'm going to Hull for the first time this weekend. I'm overnighting, so will probably look to tick off around 15 pubs. Would you say the Newland Avenue area is worth a visit for a first-timer or would I be better off just sticking to the City Centre?

Stick to the city centre for starters, you'll collect 10 pubs in and around the Old Town alone, especially if you're staying at the Premier Inn.

Newland is mainly small cafe bars with a real pub at either end (roughly).

    Thanks ROB

In that case, I might just follow the route of the PuG crawl, albeit a year too late!

Good plan, but add Head Of Steam as it wasn't open then and is worth a visit.

I might even get around to reviewing it in the next day or so.
