Good week for beer, taken in York and Kent, with ale from here and there and in between:
Great Heck-Golden Mane.Good stuff, peppery and fine leaf tea.Really impressive.
    Copper Dragon-IPA. reassuring lightweight IPA
Old Mill-Traditional Bitter. Decent trad bitter.
Ossett-Yorkshire Blonde.Very pale and thin, a disappointing offering from this brewery.
Red Squirrel-West Coast Stout. Roasty, toffeeish dryish stout. Excellent.
Leeds-Yorkshire Gold. Fine , marmaladey citrus.
XT Brewing-6 Rich Ruby. sweetish malt led, berries.
    York-Vikings' Revenge.A salloon bar pillager.
Goody Ales Bleangate Brewery:Good Heavens.A beery beer, getting to the end of the cask.
Adnam's-Old Ale. No condition, been sitting around too long.
Goacher's-Real MILD Ale.Out of this world.
    Goacher's-Gold Star.A strong gold 'un.
Goacher's-Imperial Crown Stout. Dark, roast, liquorice.
Marston's-Pedigree. In good condition, but I don't warm to this beer.
Shepherd Neame-Late Red.A bit sweet, a bit pallid.
I was torn between the Golden Mane, the West Coast Stout and the Goacher's MILD, and any will be in the running for beer of the year, but my BOTW is Goacher's MILD, taken at The Red Lion, Snargate (Doris's.)

Not a bad week at all this time

    Long Man Old Man 4.3%
Box Steam Brewery Piston Broke 4.5%
    O'Hanlon's Original Port Stout 4.8%
    Hammerpot Madgwick Gold 5.0%
    Grainstore Ten Fifty 5.0%
    Brodie's Jamaican Stout 5.3%
    Welton's Wassail 6.1%
    Brodie's Dalston Black 7.0%
Brodie's Simcoe For Breakfast (keykeg) 10.1%
    Brodie's Imperial IPA (keykeg) 11.0%

An honourable mention must go to the Piston Broke, a classic Golden Ale with a great name and the Grainstore 1050 for apparently being an authentic copy of Ruddles County as I remember it from the 1970s.

The winner is Long Man's Old Man, a classic low ABV old served in the George in Hailsham for £1.99. This is my second nomination for this new brewer. They really seem to know what they're doing.

    Roosters Wild Mule (3.9)
    Marble Draft (3.9)
    Knaresborough Test Brew 1 (5.2)
    Leeds New Moon (4.3)
    Salamander Axe Grinder Stout (4.5)
    Ridgeside Old Yorkie (4.3)
    Wharfebank Camfell (4.4)
    Kirkstall Three Swords (4.5)
    Leeds Midnight Bell (4.8)
    Moorhouses Pride of Pendle (4.1)
    Sam Smiths OBB (4.0)
    Wharfebank Tether Blonde (4.1)
    Marstons Tetley Bitter (3.8)
    Black Sheep Bitter (3.8)

Oh decisions, decisions, very difficult to choose, the Test Brew, New Moon (a Black IPA), Old Yorkie and of course the Three Swords were all excellent but to pick just one it's Ridgeside Old Yorkie because it's so moreish.
