    Thornbridge - Jaipur

Enjoyed 4 of these in the The Oast House in Manchester. For once we were even abke to find a seat on the Friday night. While the new year resolutioners are making the gym horrendous at the moment, pubs are a lot nicer on Fridays!

    Junction 5, M3 , well fairly close.

    St Austell Proper Job
    Shepherd Neame Bishops Finger
    Courage Best
West Berks Mr Chubbs Lunchtime Bitter
    Fullers Black Cab Stout
    Plain Ales Innocence

Four vying for first place this week,
Proper Job was good but a bit near the end of the barrel,
Bishops Finger again good but not really my favourite style of beer,
The Black Cab and Innocence were both very good but totally different beer styles,( I like both).
After some deliberation I am going for,
Fullers Black Cab Stout ,the first time Iv'e tried this beer.

    Nearer than you think

A few decent pints this week

    Nutbrook - Responsibley
    Mallinsons - Tethys
    Bradfield - Belgian Blue
    Banks - Sunbeam
    Nutbrook - Mongrel
    Green Duck - Ducks Arse
    Ossett - Elizabeth Rose
    Jennings - Cockle Warmer

BOTW Nutbrook - Mongrel , a lovely nutty roasty chewy brown beer

A close second is the Bradfield Belgian Blue , a very good moreish beer which loses points as it is Blue , well more purple to be accurate

A few pints went down in and around Aylesbury, and BOTW was Fullers Bengal Lancer which sailed through the three pint test with ease in The Red Lion,Marsworth ,a very authentic village boozer.

The upcoming week looks quiet,The George in Croydon may be my only salvation.

A few tried this week :-

    Long Man Long Blonde 3.8%
    London Fields Hackney Hopster 4.2%
    Lymestone Stone Cold 4.2%
    Milestone Rich Ruby 4.5%
    Brodie's Citra Pale 5.0%
    Welton's Wassail 6.1%
    Brodie's Imperial IPA (keykeg) 11.0%

The winner has to be the Long Man Long Blonde sold at an amazing price of £1.79 in the George Hotel in Hailsham (Spoons). I don't normally try beers this weak unless it's a mild but was glad I did here as it was light tasty and extremely quaffable. It's a very pale bitter beer in a similar style to a lot of Brodie's beers. It's one more suited to a warm sunny day rather than a cold dark wet dank one in January. I hope the George gets some more Long Man beers in as I would certainly try other ones.

At the risk of being boring Sarah Hughes Ruby Mild, only the pub I drank it in changed - Worksop this time.

A word to the wise don't drink three pints of it at the end of a pub crawl

Tell us, now, how and when
