I have just tried to add a photo of a pub i have been in but do not know the name of,but yet again i have no idea how to do this,i have even read Quinno's and Rex's advise at the start of this thread but with me being so thick i still have no idea how to do it.

I can get my photo file onto the post with the photo i want to add to it but then nothing happens,i click on upload image from computor, then browse but i am completly stuck after that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers Alan

    Sat tight?

    Let us begin...

    1. When you are in the post or reply to message box, go to the square icon above. Hover over it and it should say 'insert image'. Click on it.
    2. A pop-up box appears headed 'insert image'. There are two tabs above, 'from computer' and 'from url' It should usually default to 'from computer' but you can click on that tab to make sure
    3. click 'select files' at the bottom. This should then open a new pop-up which looks at your PC's files. Usually it opens to somewhere unhelpful like 'temp' or program files'. What you need to do is look at the left-hand side which has top-level places on your PC. You'll notice 'desktop'. I would store your photo(s) here as it's easier to upload with less steps (create a file on your desktop and put the image in there. Let's assume its called 'AL1000'). Assuming you have done that, click 'desktop' which will then show everything on your desktop. Navigate to the AL1000 folder and double-click on it. This will then display the photo in the file. Click on the image you want.
    4. Then select 'open'. This will close the second window and return you to the first. From there. select 'upload file'

Right, I see your problem! I got halfway through doing a step-by-step and then discovered the uploader is seemingly broken. When I upload there appears a red '!' and I can go no further. Usually that would appear because the file is too big but is being a pain for all images. No explanation given. One for Dave I think but he is off hols for a while so you'll have to sit tight and let him take a look I'm afraid.

    Anyone else??

Great! In which case, carry on from step 4. Click upload file. Then it uploads and magically closes the window and takes you back to the forum posting. The coding is now there and the image is in storage. Just hit 'post' (or whatever) and there it is! Click image for larger version.

Somewhere like Waxy O'Connors in Soho (I know they have got a tree inside, but can't remember whether there is an owl sculpted into it)?

Thanks for that Pubsignman,i dont know how you found that out so quickly.

I think i probably did this pub in the early 80s and took the photo at a later date,i dont have a pub called Old Bill or Town House on my pub database, would it have had a different name to either of these in the early 80s.

Once again thanks for taking the time to look into my problems Pubsignman and Wild Rover.

    Cheers Alan
