I still get " Member area and posting of new reviews are briefly unavailable during our site platform migration! Come back soon!
- BITE Team (24/09/17) "

Sorry for not being clear - I was referring to the main site pages which weren't working last week.

Ok, the spam adverts that appear on BITE contain web addresses. I'm not certain but I think in the early days of the site they probably turned into actual links, after that point the site will have been marked as one that could be spammed and so it keeps happening.
That trick has never worked on this site, I can see examples of spammers trying back in 2006, found out it didn't work and gave up.
We do sometimes get that sort of thing posted to the forum. Probably every few months or so.
Thanks for that, I think I get the general idea.

Just another observation.
BITE definitely appears to be on a new server. I'm wondering if perhaps there was a catastrophic failure of the old one and it is just taking time to set it up properly again.

Logging in is still "briefly unavailable", a message dated 24th September, a week ago. The last review was on the 19th of September so come Tuesday it will have been down a fortnight.

Their location search now seems to pack up with a "pub information: [an error occurred while processing this directive" error message on the second attempt...

Or that nobody seems to have been able to add a review since the 19th of September...
