A small but high quality selection this week all sampled at The Merchants beer festival:
Blue Monkey Ape Ale
Brentwood Clockwork Orange
Crouch Vale Yakima Gold
Oakham Untouchable IPA, Bishops Farewell
Marble Ginger
All of these were very good although the Ginger was a touch hazy. A tough decision given how good the Untouchable IPA was but at 9% I didn't manage the obligatory 3 pints. I did though manage 3 of Blue Monkey's Ape Ale without it touching the sides so that is BOTW.

After visiting the Norwich Beer Fest and taking in a good few pubs around Norwich this week, my beer tasting list and cider tasting list is quite substantial.
BOTW Grain Brewery Porter 5% and my cider of the week, or should I say COTW Apple Cottage Filthy Tramp Juice 6.7%.
No contest this week,as previously mentioned BOTW for me Blue Monkey Ape Ale.Deep joy.
Faulty gearbox fixed,the Anker Valley and Cov next up.

It's turned out to be a very quiet week. Something I ate at a bonfire party last night has given me a dicky tummy and put the kibosh on my usual Sunday afternoon session.So, just the three to choose from:
Ilkley - Dinner Ale.
Acorn - Tangerine Dream.
Kirkstall - Black Band Porter.
Easy winner was the BBP.

There are several candidates from these but the winner is East London Brewery Nightwatchman at the Walnut Tree in Leytonstone, which came as a really pleasnt surprise. It's a dark bitter with plenty of hop flavour.
Off topic, but is there anyone who has tried the Horsham Old and can remember the defunct King and Barnes Old? It tasted identical to me and is exactly the same strength.
