Magatrain tickets now available up to 12 March, so worth looking in about 10 days for the 22nd...

All booked up! Will just be a day trip for me - departing St Pancras 09.15 - arriving Leicester 10.29. Getting the 20.36 train back to London.

Got my £1 ticket for the same train up, but plan to return a bit earlier (and noted that ticket for some journeys were actually still cheaper on the normal East Midlands Trains site...)

Now in, although still some serious work diary juggling may be necessary and will probably need to find a willing colleague to step into the breech for an inevitable meeting...

Had to pay £7 for one connection but now on the 9.30 out getting in at 10.54 and the 19.57 back...

As a Megatrain novice how does this ticketing system work?
Do you need to turn up at the EMT info kiosk at LSP platforms 1 to 4 at least 15 mins before as it says on the confirmation ?

StP is one of the stations where they like to stamp your booking & tick their list before boarding but the little desk under the departure boards (1-4) was unstaffed last time I left from there, so simply showed my coupon to the guy on the gate, which is the usual m.o. elsewhere.
5mins beforehand should be fine, but I don't like cutting things that close...

EVERY time I try and use Megatrain it offers me a bus. Usually arriving at about 3 in the morning.

It's a crap service for us Northerners.

Well this non-insomniac missed the first dibs at 0228 this morning, so me and Q will be arriving 1229 & leaving to come back 1957.
