    Question What were they called?

    In pub this lunchtime a general discussion about "the old times" started up

    One of the subjects was the hangover cure things that used to be behind every bar, on a sort of bandolier, I think they were in brown paper with a twisted top, made to sort of look like bullets, hence the bandolier style of display

    So, wise ones, what was the name of them?

    I only tried one once. ...result was projectile vomiting. I felt to ill to have a hangover.

    I don't think I've ever had one but I could do with one now after a night on Fosters. My body ain't used to that stuff anymore. Hopefully something decent in Maidstone this afternoon to wash the taste away.
