The Downton Chocolate Orange Delight that I had earlier in the week will take some beating but I'll let you know if I manage it.
I've just joined Alcoholics Anonymous - I still drink, just under a different name.

My beer drinking is up for the week, as I'm off to France tomorrow morning.

One stand out beer this week - Magic Rock Magic 8 Ball - one of the better examples of a Black IPA that I've encountered.

This week's entire consumption was in the very pleasurable company of Cap'n Bucking Fastard, Thuck Phat and other members of the motley crew, on Friday. Strolling between Leeds' finest ( Brewery Tap, Grove, Hop, Whitelocks, Mr Foley's, Victoria and Veritas), tried the following:

    Ilkley - Mary Jane.
    Ilkley - Siberia Rhubarb Saison.
    Ilkley - The Chief.
    Leeds - Midnight Bell.
    Idle - Idle Sod.
    Goose Eye - Black Moor.
    Ridgeside - Last Horizon.
    Kirkstall - Pale Ale.
    Thornbridge - Seaforth.
    Kirkstall - Dissolution IPA.
    Sambrooks - Lavender Hill.
    Hopdaemon - Green Daemon.
Wentworth - Choc & Chilli Stout
OffBeat - Raspberry Way Out Wheat.

Some strong contenders, but it came down to the Dissolution vs Last Horizon, with the latter just shading it - a lovely pint in The Grove.

    Retirement party:
Mrs W's ex-boss and local CAMRA grandee held an eclectic bash to mark his retirement and removal to warmer climes.Three good ales, some weird stuff from Belgium in that Europe, and some draught cider and perry.I stuck to cask (on gravity, of course.)
Old Dairy-Diamond Top: slightly hazy, fearsomely hopped, a modern style IPA.
Purple Moose-Snowdonia Ale: a bit refined after the sledghammering from the Old Dairy.
Batemans-Dark MILD:black as hell, farmyard liquorice 'n' mint.
My BOTW-Diamond Top. Fitting, really, as our host claimed that he suggested that OD should brew it for the Jubilee.
