Good to see you both A&H and OB, had a lovely Sunday crawl. Mr Hatter, I shall see you tomorrow. Possibly with a friend of mine in tow.

Good to see you too. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'll third that sentiment, a great day's drinking.

If you're interested, this is our route:

Quinno went to the Barnsley Oak at South Elmsall. He wanted to visit this one as it's in the GBG, but I couldn't get away in time to do this and all the Doncaster pubs too, so I met him at The Corner Pin, which is my favourite Doncaster pub and is handy for the station. We then found our way through the bus station and across New Bridge (which Google maps street view doesn't cross, for some reason, and the PuG map shows as a thin line although it's a proper road) to the Three Horseshoes. We then crossed back into the town and went to the Market Square to try the Black Bull Hotel and the The Red Lion (JD Wetherspoon), where my attempt to stick to halves was undermined by a) Quinno's insistence on flourishing his Camra discount vouchers and b) York Centurion's Ghost.

Next up was The Salutation, on the way towards the racecourse, with just enough time for a cheese and onion pasty to be consumed as we walked. (That's one pasty each, we didn't share.)

From there it was back into the town centre for the Cask Corner, a "dive bar", according to the signage, then The Tut 'N' Shive and next door to The Plough, and finally back to The Corner Pin, which I may have mentioned is handy for the station.

Even handier is the Sheffield Tap, where we had time for a final swift half before Quinno's train back to Dronfield.

I've reviewed all the Doncaster pubs listed above, on a visit in May this year if not on this occasion, and I'm sure Quinno will be adding his views in due course.
