Friday night is curry night at Wittenden Towers, and I 'm busy with the mangsho johl, well it's festering in the oven. To hand I've a glass of Guiness West Indies Porter, a pretty decent dark'un.I used to drink bottled Guiness when it was bottle conditioned-never liked the draught version. I might well stock up on this for the festive season,as I haven't seen any Imperial Russian Stouts this year.

I have had both the Guinness bottled porters and think they were decent beers.Preferred the West Indies.Like to see them on draught.

A couple of "craft beers" from Shipyard in the US. Are they supposed to be "awesome"? Not greatly impressed, though I prefered the Fuggles IPA-surely an oxymoron, to the Export. Fuggles is one of my favourite hops, but why use it so heavily-hops are the spice, not the meat.

Apparently, Tory MPs will pay quite a lot for that sort of service.

The brewery was started by a brewer from Ringwood and in Florida I have often seen their Old Thumper brewed to the original English recipe.Sadly those beers are brewed by Marstons rather than imported.

Yes, I did wonder-the label was printed in tiny print. I liked the Fuggles though.

Actually, I could quite believe it, Moby. I've had two tea flavoured beers this year that have been surprisingly good. Fyne's Blooming Brew was infused with Green Tea and was really refreshing. My daughter loved it. Also, Marble's Earl Grey IPA was absolutely stunning.
