One of mine too, when it's on form. Unfortunately, I think it's always been overshadowed by Old Peculier, but when it's good it's delicious.

Bolten's Altbier, a crate of which was acquired on a recent trip to Germany. No way I'm getting to the pub tonight as I have too much work to do before next week's business trip in Germany when I'm hoping to get a few Herforder Dunkels down my neck.

Bolten's is not one of the well-know German breweries, the beer has a distinctive flavour and is quite similar in character to, for example, Dark Star.

Proper German beer is undoubtedly the second or third best in the World, but you can't beat the real thing.

Drinking something called Smoke Bomb from Anarchy. Just 3.9% according to the pump clip but has an aggression and bite of something much stronger. Interesting ale.
