Stansted Mountfitchet is the name of the village, parish council, railway station, etc., but for some reason Royal Mail insist on using the shortened version. You will also see that the full name is shown on the Tele Atlas maps used on Pubs Galore, Ordnance Survey, Google Maps, etc.
