Default London pubs with high quality beer gardens

A colleague of mine is out today on a crawl of London targeting London pubs with good beer gardens. She had no idea of the itinerary and off the top of my head I could only think of the White Horse at Parsons Green as being a 'good' pub with a good beer garden/nice outside seating. I guess in large chunks of London the buildings don't lend themselves to gardens.

Can anyone think of some good examples?

A couple near London Bridge station would be

Brew Wharf. Not a traditional pub in any way though and a bit expensive.

    or

The George. A very old pub with decent beer but touristy.

    or

Just down the Thames is Founders Arms. A great riverside terrace with views across to St. Pauls.
A pub is for life not just for Christmas

There's a list here - but of course nothing in the West End or City

There's not much in Central London, so thinking further afield:

    Pelton Arms, Greenwich
    Bricklayers Arms - Putney
    Windsor Castle - Kensington

All have decent gardens and good beer.

The Griffin at Whetston in north London has a real big Beer Garden with a outside Bar as well one of the best in North London In my opinion.

It rather depends how far out of the centre they are thinking of going. Obviously there are plenty of gardens, or perhaps more accurately outside drinking areas, once you get out of the centre. There is one fairly central pub I would add to the list - The Rose and Crown in Colombo St:

The Hare & Hounds (Youngs) in East Sheen SW14 has a very large and pleasant garden; also The Plough SW14 has a decent outside area. Should be nice for this weekend!

A few from memory, the Greenwich Union and Richard the First in Greenwich,The Flask in Highgate and the small but pleasant courtyard to the rear of the Southampton Arms in Gospel Oak.

How about the Palm tree Mile End ,massive garden if you count the park, more seriously though the Eagle Ale House Clapham.
