Another good week for different beers, although the overall standard wasn't as good as last week's jaunt round Huddersfield. Tried this week:

    Thwaites - Logans Run.
    Elgoods - Snake Slayer.
    Brains - Clock Tower.
    Batemans - Smokey Joe.
    Rat - Rat Pack.
    Dr Mortons - Ancient Grease.
    Salamander - Stout.
    Mallinsons - Neptune.
    Bank Top - Leprechaun Stout.
    Empire - Anxiety.
    Milton - Saturnalia.
    Milton - Marcus Aurelius.
    Riverhead - Sparth MILD.
    Fernandes - Malt Shovel MILD.
    Fernandes - Cascade.

Particularly enjoyed the Rat Pack and Marcus Aurelius (7.5% stout), but the Saturnalia just shaded it.

Not much to shout about this week - just a couple from the 'Spoon's festival and a few dismal pints from Hall & Woodhouse.

BOTW by default is John Martin's Pale Ale from the 'Spoon's festival.

Snap with BOTW - Milton Saturnalia was on at the Nags last week. I rather enjoyed it. Usually Milton beers don't do much for me.

Yeah, I've had one or two ho-hum ones from Milton, but on balance more good than bad. Watch out for the Nero stout though, it's fabulous stuff.

Ohh that's on at the Nags at the mo. Bit late to go out now for me but hopefully there'll be a drop left for tomorrow after work.

A very late submission from me again.

I haven't found a beer at the JDW festival that really rocked my boat yet, although the Russian Stout was good.

BOTW is going to be Craddocks Troll, tried at the Baum inevitably. Light, with gentle hoppiness and very dangerous at 5.4%.

Having just had a flash of inspiration after entering my non-Reading beer scores on NBSS, I am changing my BOTW to Orkney Dark Island, which I had at The Belle Vue in High Wycombe. Whoops!
