Just to update, just remembered the twee back to front clocks found in some pubs, you know the sort, anti clockwise, thus 11 is where the 1 should be, and 3 is where 9 is meant to be

Bonapartes has a large clock built in to the stone wall of the pub. It has obviously broken at some point, but rather than go to the expense of getting it fixed, they just set the time to 18:56 and put up a notice saying that it commemorates the year the building was built!

    Hare & Hounds

The above was visited in 2007 before I was on this site, so I have just uploaded a couple of photos today taken at the time. The Hare and Hounds just outside Coventry has a clock table, and it worked too.

I think this comes from the old days when we had the old clock type needle magnetic operated speedos in Cars and on Motorcycles before the accurate electronic type now. They were allowed read over but not under for instance if your doing a real 30 mph and your speedo shows 40 MPH thats OK But if your doing 30 MPH and your speedo shows 25 MPH thats a failure. So most were made to over read to be on the safe side.

[QUOTE=Evil Gazebo;44279]Forget about pub clocks. Forget about atomic clocks. Here is the latest technological advancement in timekeeping.

Every pub garden should have one of those. Brilliant.
