A decent enough start with 14 pints over the last 2 days, once again the mighty Burley St - Laguna Seca is a contender, along with Goose Eye - Pommies' Revenge. More to come tonight and tomorrow though

Had a great time at Loughborough beer festival yesterday and have 2 beers in the running for BOTW from there.

    Captain Cook Discovery
    Parish Burrough Bitter

Were a couple of others, but I haven't marked them on my paper, so I've forgotten. Shame what it does to your memory.

Never mind, off to Liverpool today. May pick up some outstanding beers there.

After last weeks throat infection it was nice to be able to taste beer again

    Salopian - Lemon Dream
    Batemans - Hooker
    Naylors - Pure Gold
    White Rose - Hopticians
    Empire - Beyond the Pleasure
Brown Cow - Left Arm Over
    Salamander - Pholus

Tough choice between the Salopian and White Rose

I will stick local BOTW Salopian - Lemon Dream

Despite missing the Liverpool jaunt not a bad week for beer and not a dodgy pint amongst them:

    Oakham Bishops Farewell
    Mortons Essington Gold
    RCH Firebox
    Dark Star Revelation
    Kelham Island Bohemian Rhapsody

The Revelation was just that and after much praise on these pages didn't disappoint but BOTW was RCH Firebox. Malty and fruity and still very fresh but with kick like a mule. You'd never guess it was 6% - dangerous.

Another quiet week for me, only managing a couple of quick ones on a flying visit to Leeds. Tried this week:

    Great Newsome - Frothingham Best
    Great Newsome - Ploughman's Pride.
    Elland - Northern Sky.
    Salamander - Wormwood.
    Goose Eye - Pommie's Revenge.
    Fernandes - Oatmeal Stout.

Easy winner was the Stout, drunk in the sunshine, outside The Hop.

No new ones to mention from Friday or Saturday, so I'll have to stick with the Pommie's Revenge.

Bags of choice from Liverpool, only one beer I didn't like all day, (guess what) and a couple of average ones. In spite of a lovely session on Leeds Midnight Bell yesterday which came close to being BOTW I'm going for an odd choice - Tetley's Porter as drunk in the Poste House, probably because it was so unexpectedly good.

    Wharfebank Tether Blonde
    Durham White Velvet
    Roosters Astro
    Roosters Leghorn
Carlsberg Lager (I plead the curry Mrs B forced me to buy her)
    Big Bog Bog Standard
    Cains Blonde Bird
    Rat Dirty Rat Mild
    Liverpool Organic Johnnie Handsome
    Tetleys Porter
    G Wright Lion Returns
    Bakehouse Cupcake
    Offbeat Oddball
    Leyden Knickerdropper Glory
    Pheonix Wobbly Bob
    Ilkley Fireside Porter
    Jennings Bitter
    Leeds Midnight Bell
    Dr Morton Ancient Grease
