For the second week running Dark Star Revelation in a different pub ,this time The George ,Croydon.Despite being served in a plastic mug due to Palace v Brighton that evening,it still outshone the Thornbridge and Abbeydale beers on a swift trip to Sheffield.....it really was that good

No pub this week, but I tried a couple of good Kentish 5% golden ales in boittle that I pickd up a few weeks ago: Golden Ticket from spa Brewery/Royal Tunbridge Wells Brewery-I think they are one and the same, and Hengist from the Wantsum Brewery at the old Chislet Colliery site near Canterbury. The Golden Ticket marginally gets my nomination, but they were both hoppy and tasty, and I look forward to drinking them from cask, though neither brewewry seems to reach my particular neck of the Weald.

    Project Venus - Venus Black
    Dorset Brewing Co – Ammonite
    Oakham – Citra
    Oakham – Dreamcatcher
    Leeds - Midnight Bell
    Orkney – Red McGregor
    Magic Rock – Rapture
    Havant – Started
    Fullers – Jack Frost
Dark Star – Smoked Porter, a former BOTW,but served a tad too cold and not so good in the George in Fleet St.

A real toss-up between the Magic Rock Rapture in the Craft Beer Co and Oakham Dreamcatcher in the Lamb in Surbiton, but I think I’ll plump for the Dreamcatcher

    Oakham Bishops Farewell
    Black Sheep
    Fullers London Pride
    Fullers Benghal Lancer
    Wooden Hand Pirate's Gold
    Wentworth Rock Spalt

Both the Bishops and the Rock Spalt were excellent but BOTW was Fullers Benghal Lancer.

Revolutions Severin Dark and Dark Star Milk Chocolate Stout were both good contenders this week, but I've got to give BOTW to the excellent Fuller's London Porter which I was pleased to find the cask version of in the Star Tavern, Belgravia.

Damn! I nearly went there tonight on the way to an after-work meeting, but opted for the nearby Wilton Arms instead (mind you, I ended up with a pretty good pint of Late Red anyway...).
