That's dedication. A man and his drink are not so easily parted.
Now I know you were drunk! Quinno went for an earlier train. It was me and Catia who walked you to the station and pointed you to the right platform (we made our own train too, but only just).

A good day in the field! Here's a photo to prove it. Taken in The Flower Pot in Derby. Apologies to rpadam - this was the closest we got to the full complement in one pub all at the same time. L to...
Sorry to hear that, Leigh. Especially about the inferior beers in Germany!
Those that now seem to be coming include
Bucking Fastard
Soup Dragon
Dave M and Tammy
Quinno
Gann (and Mrs Gann?)...
This week's pub crawl is looking to be jinxed. So far those not coming, for a variety of reasons, include ETA (#24), ROBCamra (#32), Mobyduck (#53), Maldenman (#57) and trainman (#58), with...
Yes, but getting onto the old Nottingham Road involves crossing the busy main road just after it emerges from the underpass. Just making sure everyone knows that it's not a road that you skip...
In the absence of any further suggestions, I attach a route for the pub crawl, which is now only two weeks away. I haven't included timings or a detailed route description. Does anyone want this, or...
See my post #21 in this thread.
Hope you can make it. Any pubs you liked that have not been mentioned so far?
Neither the Tap or the Exeter would be top of my list, but as we're passing, it would be rude not to pop in.
As you know, there tends to be a certain amount of flexibility about these routes. I've...
Yeah, I'd forgotten about that one. It's a sister micropub to the Little Chester Ale House, I believe. We could certainly add it as a wild card - as long as no more than 15 of us want to do it!
Good call, Leigh. I missed this one when I did a little tour around some of the outlying pubs in Derby two years ago. As you say, it could be another wild card, but let's see what feedback I get for...
Total walking distance 4.3 miles.
I've managed to keep walking times down to 10 minutes between pubs (0.5 miles on Google maps) but this has entailed switching the Greyhound and Mr Grundy's, so...
Good question! Mostly walkable, I'd say. Not more than 10 minutes between pubs - that's a guess, but I can put it into Google maps like I did for Al 10000's first shot. But it's a bit of a trek back...
Interesting reading yours and Soup Dragon's proto-crawl. I agree with you about the start and finish points - this is one crawl where the Spoons is too far from the station to make a convenient...
Thanks for the suggestions, Al.
Distances added from Google maps. I make it four and a half miles. It could be shortened a bit by arranging the route a little differently: eg start at Alexandra,...
...or if your train journey to Derby involves passing through either Burton on Trent (on a train that stops there!) or Sheffield, it might be worthwhile getting a Derbyshire Wayfarer. Just book your...
It's good to know you can come! Hope Ray can too.
It would be interesting to hear people's thoughts on a possible route, as my experience of Derby is that there's quite a lot of distance between...
As discussed here, it seems we are going to Derby for the Autumn crawl. Anyone have any proposals for the date? In the past, we've mostly gone for the second Friday (see...
