Incredible achievement - Just a quick 7,000 pints...!!
Seven for me, all of which I would recommend
Of the remaining four, the Low House, North Star and Harrow (thanks to Tris) are on the 'to do' list, but I can't say I've ever heard of the Admiral...
I love Everards Tiger - always make sure I have a pint whenever I'm in or around Leicester and remain baffled by the low regard it seems to be held in on this forum.
I had almost the exact same conversation about this beer, in this pub, presumably with the same manager, back in early May! I was already well into a session, so opted for something else, but he gave...
Similarly, another Guy Ritchie movie, Snatch, used The Jolly Gardeners as the location for the 'Drowning Trout' (the scene where Vinnie Jones is held up at gunpoint)
The Salisbury Hotel featured...

Hi Ray & Fiona
As Moby say, the two main clusters of pubs in Bournemouth town centre (along Old Christchurch Road and around the main square/lower gardens area) are hopeless, so you need to...
Still a couple of cask beers from St Peter's Brewery according to WhatPub and a few reports I've seen on Twitter.
I'm not sure if they're on these forums, but I noticed that Blue Scrumpy hit the 1,000th review mark today. An impressive feat in itself, but perhaps even more so, given that this tally has been...
Hi Gill - all being well, I should be down in Exeter later this month. Did you find anything worth recommending beyond the GBG listed pubs?
No contest this year
The Phoenix, Shepherds Bush
I managed to get out of London enough this year to have a few great contenders for POTY - in no particular order:
The Three Pillars, Gravesend
Holly Bush Inn, Makeney
The Sun, Pickering
The...
Four pubs in Abingdon on New Years Eve got me to 155 for the year, which I'm pretty pleased with considering the delayed start to pub going and all the faff with outdoor-only drinking.
I was in the Albion in Kingston a couple of weeks ago - a great dog-friendly pub - and having bought a pint, I went and sat at the only free table I could find, next to a couple with a border collie....
Looks like a great day out. Really disappointed I couldn't make this one - the only Friday in October I couldn't do
I'll look forward to reading the reviews - always love drinking in...
:notworthy:
Yes, I did take a quick look at the Grandstands listed on the site. I think the most likely contender is the one in Hereford - the Hungry Horse chain have been replacing their generic corporate signs...
After a suspension of the award in 2020, the Pub Sign of the Year for 2021 has now been announced. In the sort of tense and dramatic finish that's become synonymous with this award, things ended in a...
The Antic website has listed 13 pubs that are no longer operating as part of the pub group.
"I’m afraid that 36 hours before the latest lockdown our long term financial partners decided to serve...
I did this crawl (albeit in a different order and minus the Corner Pin & Redemption Tap) on a match day three or four months before lockdown. Only two pubs were exceptionally busy - the High Cross,...
I'm heading up to Yorkshire tomorrow and hope to stop-off in Beverley for a pint or two, so thanks for the heads-up on those two pubs - think I'll save them for some other time!
That's odd - the site was definitely up when I posted, but seems to be unavailable now.
This is their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/micropubfilm/
Someone has made a feature-length documentary about micropubs, which will be premiering in Canterbury this weekend before presumably becoming available to watch at the link below afterwards.

There is a 'like' button of sorts - the star-shaped symbol in the bottom left corner of each post allows you to submit positive feedback, albeit anonymously. Users can see which of their posts have...
I've decided to adopt a 'No apps, no QR codes' approach, which has worked in all 90-odd pubs I've been in since the first lockdown. My stock line when I'm greeted at the entrance of a pub and talk...
