Precisely the reason I generally avoid them, not just because few now are pubs rather than conversions, but their low prices can be the death knell for traditional pubs with their far higher...

I suppose the 'true' definition of a free house is that it's not tied to a brewery, but that doesn't mean that it has a huge selection of cask; it could just stock Fozzies and be called a free house....

They can't even do that. The former Frank Cooper's Oxford marmalade joint shut in September (though it hasn't made the stuff in years).
