Got my appointment for tomorrow! They must have found a spare vial down the back of the sofa.
Perhaps a little more information than we needed! (Good news about the vaccination and the "nice little earner", though.)
Levelling up?
That's good news, Steve. (Still waiting for mine....)
This one?
Oxidation occurs when oxygen negatively reacts with the molecules in the wort or beer. It can be difficult to avoid because aeration of wort before pitching yeast is necessary. It is...
North Riding Brewery Toffee Porter 4.5%. This 50cl bottle cost £3.45 from Beer Central. It poured with a big fluffy head and the smell of bonfire toffee. Initial flavour was dominated by chocolate...
There's no doubting the quality of this - far better than the Siren Craft Gather & Store that I had in December. I like to try one from time to time, but I can't get massively enthused about sour...
Police report rise in large Covid lockdown parties in England.
Guilty as charged.
Well, here's a bit of an oddity that I picked up at Beer Central two weeks ago and hadn't quite summoned up the courage to drink it until now. Yes, it's a sour beer. Vault City Brewing Sloe Gin Sour...
I've rarely been able to buy the same Kernel beer twice - they seem to do very short runs and then go on to brew something else.
I'd be interested in getting hold of that one, because if anyone can make a decent beer with mosaic hops, The Kernel can.
Thanks for drinking that one so that we don't have to! Actually, as a vegetarian/nearly vegan I wouldn't have gone anywhere near that beer. Just goes to show there are worse things than peanut butter.
I'm only a beginner on whisky, Jim. I have yet to pay much more than £30 for a bottle, so £350 seems like a hell of a lot. Have you had a look at the gift ideas on this website?
:)
I didn't notice the cinnamon, despite the fact that it was listed in the ingredients before the cocoa and coffee, which usually indicates there's more of it - which I find hard to believe. I didn't...
Tonight's beer is a magnificent 12.5% Imperial Stout from North Brewing in collaboration with Mikkeller. This 440ml can cost £7.50 from Beer Central. First impression is of a massively alcoholic...
Good to know you've had it. Hope you're feeling ok now.
Just the one beer tonight, but a pretty good one: it's a subtle New England IPA by UnBarred, a brewery based in my birthplace: Brighton. This one's called, erm, I've no idea what it's called as there...
OK, some facts and figures:
Since 20 March last year I have spent just over £2k on beers to drink at home, or £200 per month (but not all of it has been drunk yet). Forgetting for the moment about...
No one could mistake you for a troll, Jim. (More detailed reply to follow when I've extracted the relevant info from my spreadsheet.)
Most of the beers I've had this week have been old favourites, but here are three new ones:
Thursday
Salt Hexagon Project #2 Barley Wine 10.9% - “aged for over 12 months in Australian Whisky...
No traces of peanuts found at this ancient Egyptian beer factory?
There's nothing on the pub's website, but their Facebook page has a (slightly ambiguous) farewell at the start of the first lockdown, but this is confirmed in this article reporting that the pub is...
