I've fallen for that one before now, especially when some drinks are priced by the pint and then the odd couple are by the 2/3 - gets a bit confusing once you're a few drinks in!

I had that same beer in The Petersgate Tap at the weekend and although I can't be 100% sure I seem to recall it being around £4.50 a pint.
I can see where you are coming from, but taking wine for example, it is priced by the glass so there is the implication that you are getting a discount if you buy a full bottle rather than three...
This is a pet hate of mine! I see no valid reason to overcharge for a half, other than rounding to the nearest 10p for round figures. Some places just take the proverbial.
