I'd recommend all of the pubs on your list. A particular favourite of ours was Bon Accord, as well as very good beer the food was also excellent.

Mrs Ale here- I totally agree. If there's a choice between kids and dogs in pubs, the dogs win every time...

Although I agree the Barton's is a magnificent pub and one I've visited a few times, and I do like Oakham ales, I'll be giving this one a miss on the day, just so I can spend some extra time supping...
