Up to 170 - a few more plans before Xmas but unlikely to hit 200 this year.
If the Bell wins then the etching of my name onto one of the bricks in the Planetarium will gain national siginificance. Maybe.
Brilliant! Joy Division unmasked. Sounds like a TV programme.
Having done 13 over the past month in London, I can confirm that all of the above do not apply...!
I did!
Mainly new openings plus one that I think was closed when I did it but has re-appeared as open. Probably a token Turtle Bay in there well I guess...?
I do need to get out again and mop...
Congrats on the BF2k :)
A man who is tired of Sams is tired of life.
Mate of mine who loves his beer and pubs is on gardening leave with a fat cheque in his back pocket so the Sams Challenge we are both doing takes...
I won't be able to make this one for various reasons, however I will raise a glass to you all in a random Sam's pub in London that day. :)
Have fun!
Oh I didn't know he'd done those! I thought Scilly was still a dead area. :o:o In that case just a couple of areas for Snow White to set-up!
Getting a list together for Dave so they can be added to the site. Here's what my research has thrown up. Any others?
St Mary’s - Hugh Town
The Mermaid - Bank House, The Bank, St Mary's, Isles...
Similar angle here, I got a bit of gyp for photgraphing the inside of one place, though to be fair a load of stuff inside was quite valuable and they'd had attempted burglaries recently. Luckily I...
Allowed myself to get months behind with reviews, having been playing catch-up over the last few weeks I'm on 160-odd (a bit rubbish but I'm now an international jet-setter!). Want to get through the...
The Little Angel?? The author must know the owner. It isn't even in the country, being as it is the other side of the Henley bridge next to, err, Henley.
I've heard that too. And yes, the Porter was the only one I ever felt compelled to re-purchase out of choice. The others were very workaday at best.
That's just a number of different Humphs ala Mr Benn!
I recall being told many were freehold and that is partly the reason why Sams don't need to raise revenues or sell shares - Humph is sitting on a mega million property empire.
Which pub?
We seem to have moved, informally, to a position whereby if a good new photo of the exterior gets uploaded pictures older than 3/4 years old get supressed in order to keep the pub page...
Friend and I are trying to tick off all the Sams pubs in London. Turns out there isn't an up-to-date list anywhere, so I have had to make one by trawling around. Can anyone help refine this list?

Cummings - https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2019-04-01/brexit-the-uncivil-war-cast/ (actually it was Craig Oliver, but who knows who he is?)
Rory Kinnear in the Union Tavern, London a few weeks back. No pigs or Dominc Cummings in situ at the time.

Egham at least has the USC!
Windsor is fine if you throw Eton in as part of the package, there's at least 5 decent pubs.
Agree with Staines, never much cop though that's true of most of the surrounds like Chertsey,...
5am Saint was wonderful in cask back in the day, one of the finest I have had! The keg version nowadays is a pale imitation.
New Wharf are an odd one. They had a very poor start with the first batches hitting Reading not being good at all, should never have left the brewery gates. Things steadied a bit, but then the...
