So did I. ;) I guessed there'd be a word for it.
The bible according to The Dark Side.
A not up the usual standards Wetherspoons pub!!! Food ok, beer cheap, locals scary. There were two fights outside when I was there and this was a Friday afternoon. Oh, and another guy there had a...
'...the simpleton son...' - who refers to their son using such a term?
I wonder if he would have preferred a mainstream lager to Sharp's new Solar Wave. I bit the bullet and went for a half and it tasted faintly like sucking a Fisherman's Friend.
If you mess up, you'll end up with gordon burns (groan).
But potential for a 3.5.
'I didn't investigate so as to avoid being mistaken for a striptease artist'. - The perils BF encounters as a pub reviewer. :)
...and the description of the venue's colour; could it be more black? And the answer is none. None more black.
I may have to pay a revisit, so watch this space.
Yes. This is a great tactic which also works following the hard nut; it's called 'slipstreaming'.

Best let sleeping babies lie. Better that than the screaming one I encountered at The Goose.
Seems like they're resurrecting a dead horse.

I thought the Scruffy Murphy's chain had gone to the wall many moons ago. I remember drinking in Alice House when it was a branch back in the '90s.
You certainly know your onions!;)
I had to look this one up, but an allium is '...a bulbous plant of a genus that includes the onion and its relatives (e.g. garlic, leek, and chives)'. I think he meant 'alium'. Thank goodness 'Spem'...
But more so than the mould-breaking Real Ale Tavern? ;)
You never know. After all, if a pub has '...a grouchy, old pub car...' then anything's possible; I've only encountered happy cars.
Perhaps it should be renamed The Hole.
The Ship - Rex's previous misunderstanding.
