Sorry I'm not going to be able to make this one. Have recently had COVID (well 4 weeks ago) and have been really struggling with fatigue and persistent cough.
Been getting much better this week,...
That is great news. Looking forward to meeting you.
Still working on my long promised pub crawl tool, made some progress in the past couple of weeks but not quite ready for people to try out yet.
I've just tried putting this version of the crawl...
Do you know which version of Windows you are using? If it is Windows XP then I know what is going on and it is a tricky one to help with.
There might still be a way for you to get to PuG, try out...
Sorry for still not getting a proper pub crawl tool together.
I've created a map for this one based on how it looks to me https://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubcrawl/birmingham.php
I've gone with a...
Currently intending to arrive in New Street at 10:56, then a quick pit stop for fat and carbs at the Briar Rose. Should hopefully be in the Wellington before midday.
I don't think I got around to weighting ratings by age. It is more about a new user signing up and rating one pub as a 1 or a 10, that would have almost no impact on the list.
It is supposed to...
At the moment unfortunately you don't, still trying to figure out exactly how to make it work.
Thought I'd add another data point to the list and I found a backup of the just before Covid data for comparison.
Pre-Covid 07/03/20 4935
10/07 4234
17/07 4223
24/07 4502
31/07 4455
07/08...
That was a cunning idea, sadly as we set it up with one user to post all the blogs it means they would've all gone. It was entirely possible to create a different user for each blog, in retrospect...
I've changed settings now to just demand the shortest route it can find, that does mean it will still suggest some very inappropriate footpaths but shouldn't increase the distance by 20%
Also set...
It is a tricky one, it finds footpaths that Google doesn't and in many cases is really good for walking directions. Sometimes the footpaths are terrible and yes I've found the infrequent ferry issue...
It appears to have been withdrawn from the Play Store by Google, not sure how easy it would be to get it back in.
My preference is to produce a web version of it that can still be sort of...
I've been digging around in the real ale data from the spoons app and have checked back to see what stock levels have been like. So this is a list of how many ales were available at the 869 branches...
I only have history of name changes from 2014 and not absolutely every one. But I think the date probably covers both of those.
This is far from perfect still. I shall look into how to make it...
We process a lot of name changes (almost 22,000 of them since 2014 - thank you dwarfs :notworthy: ). Totally accept the 'not capturing them very well' sentiment as they don't show up in the pub page...
Oh no, another can of worms!
I am following all of this discussion closely and looking into things to work out how easy/difficult some of the changes would be. I will reply to stuff specifically...
Absolutely and probably need to be made easier as I think Quinno has mentioned before. Ideally in fact tag it as being garden/pumps/sign or whatever.
Well the interesting bit is that although...
Actively marking them as suppressed from the front page doesn't seem like the right solution.
Modifying the algorithm to prioritise newer photos might be the way to go.
I think Quinno is...
I prefer to think of it pre-empting rather than deflecting. I am a muppet, don't need reminding. This is at least the third time I've allowed the certificate to expire, next expiry date is 08/11/2021...
I can fairly easily pull out some raw numbers, not sure how useful they really are though as the true number of closures is sadly I would think far higher than just those we know about.
But...
Sorry I messed up, Forgot to renew the certificate once again!
Sorted it out a couple of hours ago so should be working for everyone now but there might be browser caching issues - should resolve...
Very much still 'in development', but just made a couple of small modifications for make it useful.
Here is the 'Pub Crawl Selection Tool' - it starts off over Norwich because it was constrained...
Yes this is the key, trying to extract enough data to help with that sort of thing is the awkward bit. The recommended filter will currently do a decent job in a town centre that has been visited by...
