A similar thing happened at White Hart Lane against Wigan the other week. There were players in Spurs kits and latex masks but it was obvious by their quality that they were fakes.

"Some people were apparently fooled by the fake Popemobile, despite the fact that it appeared to be sponsored by a bookie" :D
The spread of Halal meat is further than you think.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ered-meat.html
I can understand the practice on religious grounds by local butchers for a local community. It seems now you get it without any choice. This country has over the years brought in laws and practices which try to be as humane as possible to the animal being slaughtered. Some of you may disagree , that is your right. These are now being flouted by large companies providing food in retail premises. Why do Whitbread and Mitchell & Butlers need to do this. I bet you chicken processed in a country such as Turkey is a lot cheaper than European products.
Why would a pub which sells alcohol - and therefore objectionable to Muslims for that reason - need to sell Halal meat anyway? They seem to be catering for a double standard at best or practising hypocracy at worst.
I am not a vegetarian, I enjoy good, wholesome meat, but I would rather go without than condone inhumane practices.
Stick to pork, at least that will not be halal or kosher slaughtered
Mind you the pig killing may have been humane, the rearing probably was not
Not only the Daily Mail, organ of the middle classes, but also the Sun, white van mans favourite paper, also carries the story and has an online vote.
Not sure about the Daily Star, I never manage to get past the nipple count.
Will the big pub companies also start selling none alcohol beer to us without telling ?
Not sure about the non alcoholic beer, but I have heard rumours about battery farmed hops - Poor little buggers don't stand a chance!:(

Never heard of that one. Must pop down to the job centre.
Britain's best subsiding pub
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...subsiding.html
looks like a couple of you have already been there!
An interesting place. As you can see from one of my exterior photos, it was a bit on the snowy side when we were there so trying to keep balance wasn't easy inside or out!
Sin Eaters.....I think the modern version are alive and well. When you go to the after funeral do for a pint and sandwiches and a slice of gala pie, sat in the corner are a couple of old dears. No one knows who they are and if asked about their connection with the deceased the reply is muffled by a mouthfull of chicken leg or a cheese salad sarnie. No one kicks up a fuss because no one is too certain which side of the family they are from.
Watch closely and a small bottle of brandy from a large hand bag is used to top up their drinks. The empty space in the bag is useful when taking home uneaten items from the table. Well they are on a pension you know.
Very funny!!!

Went in the Wenlock last night and nearly threw up before I had a drink
http://everydaylifestyle.wordpress.c...sign-festival/
It was awful. What were they thinking of? Friday was actually my first visit to the Wenlock since I worked in Islington over 7 years ago and I made a point of popping in due to all the closing down stories flying around. I thought I had accidently walked into a teletubbies bar and everybody who walked in thought it was a lousy joke. Even the staff were finding it hard to justify the pub's involvement although the gorgeous French TV presenter sitting at the bar whilst filming an article for French TV was some compensation. Luckily the decor is only temporary (at least I hope so) and as I don't want that to be my lasting memory of the place if it does close I will have to schedule another visit when the old furniture is restored.
That is TRAGIC!
If that 'design' is anything other than temporary, it can surely only hasten the pub's demise.
There's a few skateboarders in Dartford town centre that I wouldn't mind ending up in the Darent!
i did it segway
I don't know about where he is off to, but there is a few people who are going to hell here ;)
