£1 isn't enough to tempt me to drink the stuff, let along buy it.

A hub for the village: how locals are buying up pubs at risk of closure
Featuring The Blue Bell in Norfolk, The Bevy in Brighton, and The Trawden Arms near Colne.
For those interested in such matters: Jubilee Beers.
Agree. But I had a Fuller's jubilee-themed beer at The Bear a couple of days ago (no Dark Star options on) and it was actually a Fuller's beer where I'd have ordered a second pint. I've had the Young's jubilee beer at a couple of joints and unsurprisingly, there's no Special on, so I suspect this was just Special rebadged for the week.
Also had the fullers -jubillee and thought it was good.
I had the M&S (brewed by Elgood's) Platinum Jubilee Ale and I thought it was pretty decent. The article mentions purchasing a 12-pack but I found them available or individual sale in M&S at £3 each for a 660ml bottle.
Aldi had four jubilee themed cans in, under the fictitious "Great British Brewing Co." brand - British Lager, British Ale, Session Pale and Session IPA. Like a mug I bought them and have to say I would not particularly recommend any of them. The British Ale was probably the best of a fairly mediocre bunch, probably helped by being an ale/lager hybrid which made it stand out as something a bit different.

Seeing the Black Horse makes me regret missing the Preston trip.
Thanks for posting this. Yes, you really must get yourself up to Preston.
I've been to six of the 11 pubs listed.
Whitelock's Ale House in Leeds (upgraded from Grade II to Grade II*)
The Prince Alfred in Maida Vale, London (upgraded to Grade II*)
Red Lion in Westminster, London (relisted at Grade II) - this is a very vague reference, but I assume it's this one: https://pubheritage.camra.org.uk/pubs/59
Admiral Vernon in Dagenham, London (newly listed at Grade II)
The Victoria in Great Harwood, Lancashire (relisted at Grade II)
Black Horse in Preston, Lancashire (relisted at Grade II)
Seven for me, all of which I would recommend
Of the remaining four, the Low House, North Star and Harrow (thanks to Tris) are on the 'to do' list, but I can't say I've ever heard of the Admiral Vernon - I thought The Eastbrook was the definitive Dagenham/East London inter-war boozer.
I went to the Admiral Vernon with one of my Luton Town mates in February 2009, before a game that we lost 2-1 in the season when we were relegated from the Football League. He was into heritage pubs - I've kinda picked up the torch after he died in 2013. I didn't make any notes or take photos - this was a year before I'd even heard of Pubs Galore - and I don't remember much about the pub, except that it was pretty busy - well, when the Hatters come to town...
I certainly don't remember it being as bad as Andrew Parr's review from 2008: "unless you are a very brave man DO NOT even think about going through the door".
PS I think we went to the Eastbrook as well.
Yes, it is the Duke of York St Red Lion. And relisting means that although it was already Grade II Listed, Historic England has enhanced the description.
Just the four London ones for me.
5 for me, incl the Bridge at Topsham, though I don't remember the room that features in the photo here... how very careless of me!
Four for me:
Black Horse Hotel (thanks to Preston)
The Harrow Inn (wonderful pub, but I'm not the only one to have encountered the landlady)
The Prince Alfred (a 20-minute walk and a pub where I've spent more time than any other)
Which Red Lion in Westminster?
No, not that one - this one.
Inn is out as locals favour Bar and Tap for new pub names

Number of pubs in England and Wales falls to record low

If I knew how I'd check if the number of pubs listed here (and What?ub) reflect that.
Ah, sorry, I missed that - that brings the PuG figure down to around 43,500, I think.
Still quite a big difference, but I suppose the various restaurants, cocktail bars, wine bars, hotel bars, industrial estate brewery taps etc... that are listed on this site, were probably not part of the sub-40,000 figure, and that there may be a number of closures we've yet to capture on here as well.
Yes. And the number of pubs with the word 'Hotel' as a suffix is down but not out. Not that long ago whilst drinking in the Roebuck (NW3), a tourist walked in and asked if there were rooms available, having seen the name 'Roebuck Hotel' to the parapet; the staff looked suitably baffled.
AT LEAST 17 pubs in the York area - all owned by one brewery - are now closed and looking for managers.

I suppose this could go in Yet Another List too.
Does anyone have any idea what Humphrey is playing at? (Does he?) There are numerous other such closures around the country which makes me suspect there is an ulterior motive. Or are there just so many other pubs on the market that no-one wants to work for him?
Snippet from Stan Hieronymous' Hop Queries:- Growers in the Pacific Northwest harvested more metric tons of Citra alone than farmers in New Zealand, Australia, France, Spain, England, South Africa, Austria, Belgium, Argentina and Japan produced in total.
Can't have too much citra. Its one of the hops that changed beer as we know it.WIthout citra we would be till be drinking Youngs,Fullers and GK in London.
