I make you right there, I think the only problem with some of them is being a victim of their own success but that can be worked around. I hated the Harp on my first Saturday night visit but really liked it before 11:00 on a weekday. The Great Western can be a pain on December Saturdays or if Wolves are at home but only because there are too many supporters.
I spent Friday afternoon and early evening in Wigan Central which I had prevaricated over when choosing 10. I went for the Belper Angel because it's more of a proper micropub and does a fantastic range of beers. I certainly want to revisit Stone, probably going to Stafford late afternoon for a faster train back to Euston.
I know the rules of this list is no comments about choices so this is a statement.
I cant help noticing how few Camra pub of the year choices are on our list.Comparing the last 10 years I can only see the Harp and the Kelham Island.No votes for the Baum.
