I'll be anywhere without a telly until July 11th.
I'm just hoping that an England game doesn't clash with anything at Wimbledon that will get people commiting merry hell over the TV remote.
Don't worry Scotland is out of Wimbledon
It will be first time since 1998 I won't be watching footie in town so I'll settle for my local instead for few reasons..
1) no queue for toilets
2) no waiting time for my turn to buy a pint
3) Save my money on taxis and bus
4) forced to stand in already full room (Happened to me few times in 2006 World Cup)
5) Best of all.. I can walk to home while drunk safely. The Fox being mere 5 mins walk from my home. If in town it would take me half hour!
I was in a pub the other day, which was advertising table service during England games. I have never understood why more pubs don't try this. It would surely attract customers from other pubs showing the football, and apart from anything else, probably significantly increase the turnover per hour.Quote:
